Return to all recent trips

Our first climb was something that I (Mark) had never done before, the Lames Fontaine

A bit of a misty morning as we hike over towards the Blaitiere.

Another party just starting up the tricky first pitch. Though the book calls this pitch 4c, it is really much harder.

The view of the Lames. The route climbs some of the clean slabs in the sun

Another party working the 6a crux pitch.

Salima enjoying herself.

The remarkably awkward move over the small roof, pitch, oh, about 7.

Very relaxed.

Looking back along the Lames.

And, as we descend, we can see most of the towers of the route.

We also climbed in the Aiguilles Rouges. On this day, the Frison-Roche.

The route as seen from the cable car.

We had two more days of climbing from which I have no photos. But I did get a photo of the South Face of the Aiguille du Midi as we approached on our last day.

Mouse over to see the line.
