Three days climbing with Kade in Chamonix • August 22 - 24, 2013

Kade Joined Mark for three days (well, really two days spread out over three) of climbing in the Chamonix area. With a late arrival on day 1, we opted for a quick and not-too-taxing warm-up on Somone, a 7-pitch rock climb near the Brevent.

Kade.

Pitch number 3 of Somone. It is always such a pleasure to rock climb with this backdrop.

Even the bolts have a good view.

Looking back across the valley at the Brevent, from the Plan de l'Aiguille. Mouse over the image to see (more or less) the route of Somone.

On our second day, we climbed the Eperon des Minettes on the Aiguille du Peigne.

Climbers over on the Gendarme 3078. I believe the route is Le Maillon Manquant.

Looking towards the Aiguille du Midi and the Aiguille and Dome du Gouter.

Descending into the Papillons Couloir.

Relaxing at the Buvette.

On our third day, we climbed a rock route in the Aiguilles Rouges, Mani Pulitti, arriving back in the valley just in time to avoid the big rain storms that moved in that afternoon. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so not photos that day.
