Rick Billingham and friends • February 16, 2016

Rick Billingham came out from Seattle to join us again on skis, this time for just one day. He brought with him a couple of friends, John and Jean Anne.

Return to all recent trips

Their timing was perfect for the Vallée Blanche, wtih a gorgeous sunny day.

If a bit windy, at least on the arête.

Clouds over the border with Italy, but they didn't affect us much.

On the arête.

There was a medium sized crowd heading into the Vallée.

Starting our descent with an ascent (short) to get to an untracked bit of fluff.

Very nice snow!

Mont Blanc de Tacul in the background.

Jean Anne taking a nice line down the "Rognon".

Rick following up...

The sunshine kept up with us as we descended.

Yipee!

It really was nice to find untracked corners despite all the company.

Mark comin' in hot!

And more...

Ducking in out of the cold wind for lunch at the Requin hut.

And feeling rather pleased with ourselves, we rode the Montenvers train home! Thanks to Bill, John and Jean Anne for another great day on the Vallée Blanche.
