Return to all recent trip

Gini and Gary gearing up at the base of "Mani Puliti".

Our first climb was of "Somone" in the Aiguilles Rouges near the Brévent cable car.

At the top of the climb.

On day 2 we headed over to enjoy the limestone of the Col de Colombière.

Our objective is a lovely slab climb called "Les Demoiselles du Grand Bo".

Shortly after the start, a short but steep traverse gets our attention.

Then comes the crux, a smooth slab with tiny edges for hands and feet.

Gini topping out on the last pitch.

Back at the col, we reward our efforts with ice cream!

Day 3 was very wet and rainy in Chamonix, so we escaped southward to some steep sport climbing at Gruvières, near Machabe. Gary works out the steep moves.

Day 4, we head back into the Aiguilles Rouges, and Gini gets on the sharp end on Mani Puliti.

Gary enjoys the sunshine.

Getting out above it all.

Near the top of the route, things get very scenic.

On top of yet another one!

For our final day we saved the Index.

The first pitch on the Index.

Nearing the top...

The airy summit ridge.

The long rappel.

Heading home afterward, and enjoying the views of the Mont Blanc massif.

Sorry to see the week end! But happy to celebrate with a cup of coffee.
