Kathryn Howard • August 15 - 18, 2011

Kathryn Howard came over from St. Louis to join Kathy in an attempt on Mont Blanc.

Return to all recent trips

Kathryn is seen here en route to the Tête Rousse hut.

Fair weather clouds and clear skies as we made our way up the ridge.

We had a gorgeous sunset from the Tête Rousse hut.

Mont Blanc proved to be too much for this trip, the acclimatization period too short. We backed off and spent our last day together in the Aiguille Rouges, climbing the lovely gneiss above the Index chairlift. Across the valley are from left to right, the Aiguille de Chardonnet, the Aiguille d'Argentière, the Aiguille Verte and Les Drus, and the Mer de Glace.

Climbing on "Mani Puliti". Lovel warm sunshine!

On the way back, Kathryn captures the moment.

Arrividerci for now, Kathryn!
