For the ridge descent we bundled up warm
on this very cold day. |
Again, not too many skiers to compete with
us on this mid-winter day. |
Starting out down the upper slopes, looking
southward toward Italy. |
We had first tracks down the Petite Envers,
in excellent snow. |
Mustn't forget to stop and take in the
great high-mountain views. |
We negotiate a couple of steep and tight
passages... |
Then enjoy a bit more freedom to ski the
open slopes of less-tracked snow. |
Admiring our handiwork. |
Lower down we re-join the greater numbers
coming off the "classic" descent route. |
The Dent du Géant looms above as
we cruise down the easy lower glacier. |
With somewhat light snow cover at the glacier's
edge, getting off is a bit delicate but quite beautiful. |
A pause at the buvette, and we're off through
the woods to finish up. |
