Diana and Marcus Collie had already signed up for our Ortler tour in April. They came out to the Chamonix valley to do a bit of training and preparation for that tour. We spent a day skiing over the Col du Passon to Le Tour.

After riding to the top of the Grands Montets and descending to the Argentière Glacier, we cross over to the climb up toward the Col.

Steep ground on the moraine was better managed on foot.

Soon though we had a great skin up a good track to the base of the couloir leading to the Col.

Here the going gets steep indeed.

Ooof! What a cluster!

Into the sunshine at the top of the Col, a bit of lunch and a long ski back down to town!
