Mark Connor, Peter Harris and Peter Sibley • July 6-8, 2006

Mark, Peter and Peter all hail from the UK. They have done a bit of adventuring together and decided to up the ante a tad and climb some peaks in the Alps. Our Mark joined them for 3 days in the Mont Blanc area. We had a fairly specific itinerary, and in spite of the decidedly funky weather for some of those three days, we were pretty much able to keep to it.

Other Recent Trips

With rather poor weather our first day, we wandered about in the fog and eventually found the Points Lachenal, of which we climbed the central summit. Here, Peter H. climbs the final rock to the summit.

Later on the same day (our first) we came down to Chamonix in the rain, drove up-valley and hiked into the Albert Premier hut.

The following morning we started early, hiking under the Aiguille du Tour (which we would climb later) and continued on to the Petit Fourche. The more or less clear weather seen here, quickly turned into fog which kept with us the entire day.

A few moments after the previous photo we wander through the fog below the Col du Tour.

Peter S. holds on to the Petite Fourche. After our climb of the Fourche we continued onto the Trient hut, crossing the Plateau du Trient in the mists.

The following morning, however, was beautiful. Here we see dawn on the Grand Combin.
