Bob & Kim Prust, Alps Alpine Climbing July 30 - August 2, 2004
In July, Bob and Kim Prust of Traverse City, MI, joined Kathy for a few days of climbing in the Chamonix area. We started with a traverse of the Crochues in the Aiguilles Rouges, followed by a scenic traverse of the Géant Glacier in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif, and ending up with a "fun-ride" climb of the Arête des Cosmiques. |
Leaving the telepherique station on the Aiguille du Midi with several dozen of our new best friends! |
A pause mid-way along the classic ArÍte des Cosmiques in gorgeous weather, and tranquil traffic conditions! |
Enjoying a moment of rest before the crux "point of aid" pitch on the ArÍte des Cosmiques. |
As we were climbing, Mark and Chris Kulp appeared at the top of a nearby route, the "Eperon des Cosmiques". After a hoot and a wave, they were gone again. |
Kim crankin' the crux! She likes it! Hey Mikey! |
Kathy and Bob climbed the Index, in the Aiguilles Rouges, while Kim recovered from the previous day's overdose of sun! |
We enjoyed T-shirt weather on the Index, and relatively light traffic. |
The epic rappel off the Index is always entertaining. |
