Canadian
Rockies with Chris Kulp In late June of 2001, Chris Kulp and I spent 10 days climbing in the Canadian Rockies. As is not so uncommon in the Rockies we were chased around by the weather, trying to make the best of the ever changing mix of sun, cloud rain and snow. Here are is one of the climbs we enjoyed. |
A view of the peak from near Canmore. The route we did ascends the broad prow, coming down and left from the summit.
|
And here is Chris, moving up and across the first 5.6 pitch. A father and son team started behind us, and made us extra careful not to knock rocks off the numerous and very loose ledges. |
The last few pitches of the route follow this wonderful dihedral, much easier than it looks. |
And another summit! Just to our west the clouds are building. |
