Photo Information - Cosmiques Arête, Aiguille du Midi, France

Return to the March 2002 Newsletter page.

This photo is looking back "down" the ridge from about the 2/3 point of the climb. These are fantastic needles that you can either tread, most fun, or turn on the left. Despite the fearsome look of the spires, the route is quite reasonable. It is quite exposed and has a few hard moves, but they are very short and can be passed with "cunning rope manuevers".

Behind is the Dome du Goûter on the right. Mont Blanc is up and out of view to the left.
