Emery moves up the steep but broken rock on the SE ridge of the Index. This was a bit of a consolation prize for Emery, who had hoped for more ambitious summits (even thought he Index is a great little climb). But a knee injury a couple months previous (while climbing in the Canadian Rockies) limited his "range of motion". We did manage this climb as well as the Cosmiques Arête and enjoyed them both.
