Susan Lowery and Roy Zagieboylo pose for the obligatory summit shot on Mont Blanc du Tacul. This was a cold, cold, cold day, unusual for mid-July. The sharp summit of Mont Maudit is behind. The Traverse of Mont Blanc climbs nearly to the summits of both Mont Blanc du Tacul and Mont Maudit before the final hump up Mont Blanc proper. The route climbs the steep glacier seen here on Maudit and crosses the shoulder just where the sun hits it at the snowy saddle.
